“ So good! The mutton tendon is indeed chewy, but even more so because it's the opaque white part as well as the more translucent part. Absolutely delicious meal. Big of a splurge, but a good special-occasion choice. ”
“ The food was absolutely exquisite, bursting with rich flavors and vibrant ingredients, and the service was nothing short of exceptional, with attentive staff who ensured every detail was perfect. ”
“ A place that's serves lamb in all the different ways you could ever want! If you are a lamb lover this is a place for you. We got several dishes and some highlights are the sautéed spicy mutton, the lamb chops, the hotpot, and the dumplings! ”
“ For all the lamb fans out there, this is the spot to be. I "SHEEP" you not! It's one of the top places for lamb that I've ever visited. Though I do wish their service was a bit more on point. Let's dig right in! Service (3.5/5) - I think the server is always pushing for upsells. Giving recommendations is one thing, but being too focused on making sales and pushing different products onto customers is another. One clear illustration of this problem is when I inquired about their alcohol selection. They would give me varying prices for each brand, and when we opted for the cheaper to mid-range options, they'd either say that they no longer had it or forgot to mention that it was out of stock. Food: (5/5) Sautéed Spice Mutton: MAN OH MAN! the sauce was amazing. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, with just the right amount of spice. I did order less spicy as I am type of customer that cant really handle spice. If you pair it with beer, it will make your night. This is a must try for dish. Make sure to keep the sauce if you really like it. You can use it to dip your food in and mix up some great flavors! Pan Fried Green onion with Mutton: It is a delicious dish if you pair with a bowl of rice. However this flavor I feel I can get it at any restaurant. Please don't get me wrong. It is an amazing dish and the price is reasonable. If you never tried it before I would recommend it to give it a go. Chinese cabbage with garlic and green bean noodle: YUP! It is a must try. Make sure to enjoy this dish while it's still hot, and don't forget that it has a slightly garlicky and oily flavor. Lamb Skewers: The restaurant did a great job with the balance of lamb fat and meat. The flavor was fantastic, but comparing to other skewer restaurants they have slightly better lamb skewers. Here's what I found out: dipping the skewers in the sauce from the sautéed spice mutton dish made them taste amazing. If they can improve their skewers to match the level of their sautéed spice mutton dish, it would be unbeatable. Lamb burger? (I can't find on the menu) - I personally didn't like it but my friends loved it. I find it dry. My friends loved it and felt it was good with the tea. New Zealand Lamb Ribs: (I added $3 to have the soup). It was one of the best things I have tasted for a long time. The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the soup added an extra depth of flavor to the dish. There is one thing to watch out for. Make sure you don't boil the soup for too long or else it becomes really salty. The restaurant will provide you with cilantros, and green onions. If you don't mind the gammy lamb taste I would suggest you to try the soup by itself first then add the cilantros and green onion. I also personally put the lamb on the side. I try the flavor of the lamb first then put the garlic oil on top of the lamb. Let me tell you it was absolutely divine. I'd totally revisit to taste the food again. The last time I went, I noticed they updated the menu and prices are going up. They're now offering a regular price and a membership price. Hopefully, they don't hike up the prices too much and scare off customers. ”
“ If you love lamb, this is your place. They have lamb everything. Dumplings, soup, lamb shank, baos. They service was quite attentive but it took a while for food to come. There was a minimum spend in the rooms too. There was free parking but it could be quite busy. ”
“ Ordered grilled lamb rack, fried potato slices, lamb soup, lamb dumplings, grilled pancake. The best dish was the lamb rack. The second best dish (close 2nd) were the dumplings. Fantastic, the juice inside had a strong lamb flavor. The fat on there was so perfect with the dried spice, it may be the best lamb fish I've had all year. The soup was good but unexciting. The potatoes were actually quite a bit better than I expected. ”
“ Came for a light lunch before a prix fixe dinner and decided to try something different. We ordered just a light lamb soup, stirfried cauliflower, and a stewed lamb. Everything was delicious, service was quick, but a few things to note: * I thought the lamb soup was extremely refreshing. It had thin strips of tofu that served like a pretty good textural contrast that doesn't dissolve in the broth like the rice noodles eventually do. * Stewed lamb was good in the moment. I appreciated that it had some napa cabbage to add a bit of textural contrast. The issue is that the leftovers don't taste so great. I couldn't explain it but somehow there was an aftertaste akin to the smell of marijuana -- I think there's some spice here that probably did this. Made every burp somewhat weird too... ”
“ Lamb-apocalypse! Holy smokes, if you love to eat cumin spiced lamb like you are in northwest China, then this is your place! Lamb chops, lamb dumplings, lamb skewers, lamb stew... it goes on and on. Lamb chops: a bit fatty, but I like them that way. Comes with some xinjiang spices for extra flavor! Sesame bread: a good vehicle to eat lamb chops with! I made nice lamb sandos for easy eating! Lamb and fish dumplings: I'm not sure what kind of fish but pretty tasty and blended well with lamb. Dumplings tasted like they were homemade. So good dipped in black vinegar. The location is pretty close to the Aberdeen Skytrain station, so it is easy to get to without a car, although there is parking close by too. No shock, but I totally over-ordered. Orders come in large portions, so bring an enormous appetite or some friends when you come! ”
“ One of the things that I really love about Richmond is that with such a high population density of Chinese people, you start to see specialty restaurants that you would never see in the US. Case in point- Hao, which specializes in lamb dishes, a dream come true for a lamb-lover like me. We ordered a lot, but here are some highlights: Lamb stomach- not gamy at all, and perfectly sauteed. Lamb chops- rich, decadent, unctuous. Definitely get these. Sesame cake- freshly baked, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Excellent. Lamb and fish dumplings- strange combination, but it works. I could eat these forever. Pan-fried lamb buns- Good ratio of filling to dough, without being overly doughy. Dry lamb noodles- they specialize in lamb here, but all their carb dishes are seriously good as well. Get these for sure. If you don't like lamb, I don't know what to tell you. But if you do, this will be heaven for you! ”
